The story behind EntrySwap
I started running in 2019. In 2022 I ran my first road marathon and I haven’t stopped since: marathons, trail, 85 km and 100 km ultras... and now I’m training for my first 100 miles.
Like any runner who plans months ahead, I’ve bought entries long before race day. And like any runner, I’ve also been injured. More than once I was left with a paid-for bib I couldn’t use and no official way of getting my money back.
The informal market exists (WhatsApp groups, forums, social media), but it carries real risks: scams, inflated prices, transfers the race organisers never recognise. When you look for an official, transparent solution, in most cases it simply doesn’t exist.
EntrySwap is the answer to that gap. Not as an opportunistic business, but as the infrastructure that the world of mass-participation races was missing.

EntrySwap doesn’t just think about the runner who gets injured or the one who wants to find a last-minute bib. It thinks about everyone in the mass-participation racing ecosystem.
Race organisers are, for the most part, small teams: two or three people working with passion and an army of volunteers. Their technical resources are limited, their time is scarce, and handling name transfers by hand (with calls, emails and spreadsheets) uses up resources they should be spending on putting on great events.
EntrySwap gives them a tool that automates that work, generates extra income for them with no operational effort and helps them reduce the no-shows that hit sponsors so hard.
When the system works well for everyone, the result is a healthier community: runners who don’t lose their money, organisers who don’t lose their time, races that don’t lose their places.
